Stanlee Gatti Design
Blow Up Lab works with Event Planners to produce custom murals and props for prestigious events in high-profile locations. For the project featured here, we enlarged and printed on photo satin paper, laminated, framed and installed a set of The New Yorker magazine covers at 8x5 feet each for one of the Publisher’s press luncheons in San Francisco.
Gil Mendez Design
Print on Canvas
Blow Up Lab worked with Interior Designer Gil Mendez to help resource photograph, convert from color to black & white image, then print with archival inks on canvas and stretch on Lab built wood stretcher bars, placed in custom, hammered metal frame made by Murray’s Iron Works, featured in this elegant, designer showcase dining room. Gil was fun to work with and was quoted in the Chronicle saying this, under the heading of Artful Execution: “The Blow Up Lab produces high-quality photos and graphic prints on more types of media than I could have ever imagined. I recently had them print my own original artwork – a portrait of our dog – on canvas, for my partner’s birthday. Hands down, it was the best gift I have ever given.”
WPO (World Photography Organization)
Print and Mount Banners and Photographs
The WPO contacted us from London to ask us to help them with the World Photography Festival and Sony World Photography Awards presentation. We printed and/or mounted hundreds of photographs and large sponsor banners for this exceptional event they staged in 5 cities around the world. The only place it was shown in the US was San Francisco. We really enjoyed working with all their Executives and crew. Cheers WPO!
Stanlee Gatti Design
Print Event Murals
One of our treasured clients, Stanlee Gatti, is so creative we always enjoy helping him bring his clever concepts to life for his spectacular events. For the project featured here, the goal was to create an Andy Warhol-esque mural at 9x9 feet using a portrait of the then President of the Board at SFMOMA and making a large portrait for the stage. We printed both on photo satin paper, mounted on gator board and luster laminated for this special museum event.
Sunset Development Company
Event Photo Displays
Blow Up Lab printed, mounted, laminated, framed and installed many project photos at 4x8 feet each for Sunset Developer’s 50 years in business celebration.
Mayor of San Francisco
Create Award Statues
A fun and different kind of project, Mayor Willie Brown had Blow Up Lab make the “Herbie Awards” he would give out to recipients in honor of writer and Chronicle columnist, Herb Caen. And later, we were asked to make George Shultz Awards in a similar manner. Both we created by printing and laminating on photo paper, mounting to gator board, then cutting and mounting to stands. Not sure what one had to do to receive one of these awards, but it was a fun project!
EXHIBITS for A.C.T. (American Conservatory Theatre)
Event Display Photos
